We broke our favorite stops in Las Vegas into “To Do” and “To See”. The stops that are “To See” are great photo ops with not much else to them. When we planned our trip I made a google map with pins of all the sights we wanted to see. I highly suggest the same for your trip so you don’t end up passing things you wanted to do!
To Do:
Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden Every season the Bellagio changes the theme inside the botanical garden. It is free to get into, and you can enter across the lobby from the front desk of the Bellagio. It was an absolutely magical experience in the spring, and I can imagine it is like that all times of the year.
The Linq, Highroller Observation Wheel and Zipline
The Highroller Observation Wheel overlooks the streets from 550 feet high, and the roundtrip takes around half an hour. Tickets start at $23, and if you want to spend happy hour up there you can add to the fun with their bar car.
The zipline sends you over the Linq Promenade from around 1,000 feet up. Tickets for the zipline start at $35.
Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Tickets for the aquarium start at $36, and makes for a good family trip or break between all the chaos. It will also get you out of the weather if the heat is too much for you.
The Strat At the Strat you can choose to hangout at the Skypod, observation deck, take a leap at Skyjump, or have dinner at the Top of the World. The Strat is one of the best spots to get sky views of the Las Vegas night lights.
The Venetian The gondola rides at the Venetian are a Las Vegas staple. Rides are $32-$40 per person and photo packages are $32. Their hours differ on weekdays and weekends but generally are open from 10 am to 10pm. The shopping plaza inside the Venetian is also a great spot to hang out or grab some food.
To See:
Bellagio Fountain Another Las Vegas Staple, the water show goes on every 30 or 15 minutes depending on the time of day. Check their website for the exact times for your visit. I would highly suggest getting to your spot at least 10 minutes before it starts to get a front-row viewing spot. Outside of watching from directly around the fountain perimeter check out the fountain view from the top of the Eiffel Tower, Prime Steakhouse (inside Bellagio), Cosmopolitan rooms, and behind the fountain.
The Trevi Fountain To find this spot, look right outside Caesars Palace. If you want to get an uninterrupted photo at the fountain, first thing in the morning or pre-noon hours are best. After that you’ll be in line with a lot of like minded people.
Las Vegas Sign The best way to get to the sign is to take the Deuce bus. It will drop you off right there, and the parking is limited if you drive. Most times of the day there will be a line of people waiting to get a photo with the sign. When we were in line there were multiple couples getting married under the sign. We ended up stepping to the side of the line and just snagging a selfie.
The Eiffel Tower You can go to the top of the Eiffel Tower for $25 per person, and check out the views of Las Vegas from the observation deck.
A bonus photo op is outside Mon Ami Gabi, the flower wall is fabulous.
Outside the Strip:
7 Magic Mountains Not too far out of town, 7 Magic Mountains is a Ugo Rondinone art installation. It is absolutely beautiful at sunrise and sunset, but at sunset you’ll have a much higher density of visitors to deal with. Go early if you want to get clear photos.
Neon Sign Museum A photography hot spot and home to the Neon Boneyard. There are more than 250 signs to be seen on the tours. The museum offers different tour types including the coveted night time tours.
Area15 Home to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, an immersive art exhibit. Art exhibit is almost a poor description for this place. It is a neon paradise with a secret bar. Area15 also has virtual reality rides and experiences.
Fremont Street
Fremont Street is a classic visit while you’re in Las Vegas. This spot adds a bit of “Vegas Authenticity” to your trip. This is where you will find the neon signs, original casinos, and street performers. The later in the evening you visit, the more interesting your time will be.
